To remove data from a public folder database, delete any unnecessary public folders, and then move the remaining folder replicas in that database to a public folder database on another server. If this is the last public folder database in your Exchange organization then you should remove all public folder instances before you can remove the public folder database. The source server is the server you’re trying to remove the Public Folder replicas from. The target server can be any other server in the Organization that hosts Public Folders — presumably a server that’s in the same location ( AD Site) to avoid replicating PF s over WAN links.
Learning has never been so easy!
When unistalling Exchange 2007, you might get an Replicas Error on the Public Folders that prevents you from deleting them... try this... it worked for me
7 Steps total
Step 1: The Error
When trying to uninstall Exchange 2007, I needed to remove the Public Folders from the server before the uninstallation wizzard would allow me to continue. I continued getting this error and even visiting Microsoft's site, I couldn't get it resolved:
Error:
Uninstall cannot proceed. Database ‘Public Folder Database’: The public folder database specified contains folder replicas. Before deleting the public folder database, remove the folders or move the replicas to another public folder database.

Step 2: The Fix - ADSI Edit
I downloaded ADSI Edit from:

And followed the next steps...

And followed the next steps...
Step 3: Browse to entry:
I navigated to the following entry:
CN=Folder Hierarchies,CN=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT),CN=Administrative Groups,CN=,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=,DC=
Step 4: Delete a value:
In the right hand pane of ADSI Edit the info displays the following value:
CN=Public Folder msExecPFTree CN=....
I Right clicked on that value and then chose “Delete” from the context menu.
Step 5: The next entry:
Browse to the next entry....
CN=First Storage Group,CN=InformationStore,CN=,CN=Servers,CN=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT),CN=Administrative Groups,CN=,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=,DC=
Step 6: Delete a value again:
In then right clicked on the correct entry for my Public Folder Database and then chose “Delete”.
Step 7: Try again !
Now re-run the Exchange wizzard and the error should be gone alowing you to continue with the Exchange 2007 uninstall
This worked for me. Good luck.

- SonoraVernonGeek Oct 16, 2013 at 05:57pmThis worked great! I tried everything out there, perfect fix thanks! I did a SBS 2008 to SBS 2011 migration and the last steps is to remove exchange. The replica error is really annoying. Thanks for putting this up!
- Anaheimrogerjones Aug 7, 2015 at 01:25pmI followed the above steps in my 2007 -> 2013sp1 migration. I am now getting event id 2937 public folder database as below:
Any ideas on how to cure this problem?Process Microsoft.Exchange.Store.Service.exe (PID=4944). Object [CN=MailboxDatabaseEx15,CN=Databases,CN=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT),CN=Administrative Groups,CN=First Organization,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=ipr,DC=local]. Property [PublicFolderDatabase] is set to value [ipr.local/Configuration/Deleted Objects/Public Folder Database
DEL:2924c7d4-bf23-45c9-b0b5-bfce64fe88a0], it is pointing to the Deleted Objects container in Active Directory. This property should be fixed as soon as possible.
